Teri Herel is a student of Kalmen Opperman and performs with the Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra, the Blackledge Woodwind Quintet, the Claflin Summer Winds, the Paul Surapine Clarinet Ensemble, and the Hartford Pops Band. Ms. Herel teaches clarinet at The University of Connecticut Community School of the Arts. She has completed course work for a Master's degree in clarinet performance at the University of Connecticut, where she performed Alvin Etler's Concerto for Clarinet and Bernstein's Prelude, Fugue, and Riffs with the University of Connecticut Wind Ensemble. She also completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music. Along with many sizes of clarinets, Ms. Herel also owns a saxophone & some whistles, a chihuahua that sings, a pottery studio, and many pairs of Argentine tango shoes.
